Welcome!

Thanks for checking out my web portfolio.

I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin School of Information pursuing a Master's of Science in Information Studies. My coursework focuses on reference skills, digital libraries and Internet applications, and representation and classification. I am particularly interested in humanities librarianship, international librarianship, and improving access to information for underserved populations. Mushroom

In my current positions as Library Assistant II at the Seminary of the Southwest and Reference Desk Intern at the Laura Bush Community Library, I provide library services to scholars, students, and the public. When the library staff at the Seminary of the Southwest was reduced from six to three due to budget cuts, I helped restructure library systems and took on new responsibilities in circulation, reference, and interlibrary loan in addition to my previous duties cataloging incoming materials and correcting database records. Before entering the library field, I gained interpersonal and editorial skills through my positions as Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator at a nonprofit organization and Arts Editor at my college newspaper. I have also held positions at UU World magazine, the Boone County Historical Society, and the West African Woman Association.

My goal is to work with students and scholars as an academic librarian.
