Community members are very crucial in growing the community and allowing it to thrive in all areas. The Digital Divide in a community should be very slim. I think that the Digital Divide should be taken into better consideration within a community because the community members in a community understand how to help a community. Many adults struggle to communicate using digital devices, which cause a divide in the younger generations compared to the older generations. Usually this causes the older generations to be left apart from the younger generations in the say of the community. The older generations are typically left out or even in some cases the younger generations are left out in the community. Typically, this will lead to huge gaps within the community and miscommunication, which communication is extremely important in any community or relationship.

Some strengths of civic engagement is adults have vast amount of knowledge, but they can have trouble communicating there knowledge to others in the community. I feel that this knowledge is important in order for the community to grow. If we as students were able to help close this digital divide then this would be a huge benefit to everyone in the community.

My experience during this class with helping out the community members that came to the scheduled days was very eye opening. I as a student did not realize how big the digital divide really is for those community members compared to students. Many of times I found myself trying to explain some of the basic level computer knowledge  and I had already assumed they knew a little bit about computers.  After explaining simple terms to a community member I was then able to help them navigate within the computer and ultimately was able to teach them more and more as the time went by. In the end, I feel like I truly helped a community member better understand how to use a computer as well as the Internet.
