Throughout the course of application software we participated in civic engagement with the community of Seguin. Random people came into our class room and us as students help teach them about what technology is like and how much it has progressed in our society today. Before my evolvement in civic engagement I wasn't aware that so many people in our world today know basically nothing about an computer. For example, I helped one lady who didn't even know how to work a mouse or type on a key board. I was astonished that not everyone knew all about computers like I did. Civic engagement in my ISYS class really made me want to help the community more and teach people the things that I know and learn from them during the process as well. I now volunteer more and help improve the community of Seguin on a weekly basis.
